Rajan Sharma is a third-generation block printer from Bagru, a village outside Jaipur that has been synonymous with natural dye printing for centuries. He carves his own teak blocks by hand, each one taking days to complete, and uses only plant-based dyes — indigo, madder, and pomegranate rind — prepared fresh each morning.

Rajan's patterns draw from Mughal geometry and Rajasthani folk motifs, reinterpreted with a quiet contemporary sensibility. He works alongside his two sons, who are learning the craft, ensuring that this living tradition continues into the next generation.
